Since July 2017 I have been cycling and this new, healthier way of life has made me lose over 50 overweight pounds and meet tons of charitable and enjoyable people. This is a goal that I want to achieve because I have seen this suffering in person around the world and I intend to use cycling to achieve it:
Crossing Canada to promote a Canadian bill to encourage merchants to develop a progressive plan to integrate ethically responsible products and, just as importantly, to create "awareness / awareness" on our consumer power to be able to make responsible choices that promote the education of children, the promotion of women's rights and the financial aid people who are crumbling under the weight of the unequal. In other words, the goal is to promote the emancipation of producers in the third world who suffer under the weight of price inequalities of the raw material. This situation favors human trafficking and child labor. Several non profitable and certification organizations have worked to restore this alarming situation and they are getting there gradually, we were at 152 million children at work for the year 2017. Which is much better than at the beginning of the century. . Their hard work and zeal for compassion have been proven. From another perspective, I personally promote the rights of Canadians to buy consumer goods without encouraging slavery.
The bike ride will allow me to meet several communities in which I will be able to present a short conference on petition and make sensitization discourses in places / events found and chosen by the non-profit logistics partner of the tour.
Where will the funds go: Accommodation & meals - Car rental - Return flights - Access to some festivals, holiday camps, & churches to be able to present the petition & a discourt and dressed as a fair cyclist. ** If for any reason the awareness crossing does not take place by August 2020, the donations will be refunded, be aware that the collection of donations and the search for sponsorships is already taking place a great work of awareness in itself. ** NB: $ 5000 Fund = Toronto - St. John's Newfoundland; $ 8000 = Vancouver-Winnipeg ** ----------------------- TO SIGN THE PETITION supported and promoted by World Vision:
Let’s call on the Government of Canada to develop a law requiring companies in Canada to identify, prevent, mitigate and account for how they address child labour, modern slavery and human rights risks in their operations and global supply chains.
